In October 2008, the Foundation set up the Thinkers and Writers Forum, which provides a platform to academics and practitioners to present research papers. The academic and research community has been one of the most important pillars of policy-making providing the immense benefit of ground research on the global best practices to the policymakers.
Participants brainstorm on issues that relate to health, poverty alleviation, sanitation, water security, food security, financial inclusion, digital inclusion, governance, e-governance rural electrification, Panchayati raj, urban development, women empowerment, rural development, participatory democracy, disaster management, and so on.
Each Forum receives hundreds of research papers which are screened initially followed by a selection, the authors of which are invited for paper presentation. Around 20 papers are presented. The Forum is organised regularly and papers are presented and evaluated. A number of highly rated evaluated and reviewed papers have been published.
